SPRING MAINTENANCE CHECKLIST

 

Windows & Doors

 

 

Exterior

 

Repair cracked windows

 

 

Clean out gutters / install gutter strainers

 

Putty, caulk & add weather stripping as needed

 

 

Repair any loose or hanging gutters

 

Clean & lubricate window channels for smoother sliding

 

 

Make sure downspouts direct water away from foundation

 

Remove storm windows & install screens

 

 

Repair any damage to steps or walkways

 

Clean windows

 

 

Check house exterior for peeling paint

 

Porch, Patio & Deck

 

 

Check house trim for damage or peeling paint

 

Clean & repair outdoor furniture

 

 

Check for missing or loose siding

 

Clean & seal deck

 

 

Caulk joints & minor cracks

 

Check deck wood for nails pops and signs of rotting & replace boards where necessary.

 

 

Remove leaves & other debris that have accumulated during the winter

Look for deteriorated finished to preserve wood

 

Attic

 

 

Repair/replace damaged mailbox

 

Check vent openings for nests & other blockage
